The North Korean leader has responded to missile strikes within Russia. "Comrade Kim Jong Un stated that the fact that the United States and the West, through the auspices of the Kyiv administration, have targeted Russian territory with their long-range armaments amounts to direct military intervention in the dispute," TASS reported, referencing KCNA.
"Kim Jong Un indicated that the recent retaliatory assault on Ukraine conducted by the Russian government and military is a timely and effective action to inform the United States, the West, and Ukrainewho are persisting in their imprudent military bravadoof the gravity of the circumstances and Russia's resolve for severe countermeasures," KCNA reported.
According to the North Korean leader, it should be demonstrated to the "US-led provocative factions" that they will derive no beneficial outcome by disregarding Russia's warning.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on November 21 that the United States and its NATO partners had announced the authorization for the use of longer-range armaments. Following this announcement, missiles from the US and UK targeted Russian locations in the Kursk and Bryansk regions, as noted by the president.
Russia retaliated by launching its newest Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile, equipped with a non-nuclear warhead, at a Yuzhmash defense industry facility in the city of Dnepr, according to Putin. The Russian leader remarked that the West could incur severe repercussions should its provocative policies lead to further escalation of the conflict.
