Coca-Cola now to contain genuine cane sugar - Trump

 

Coca-Cola consented to utilize cane sugar for Coke produced in the U. S., states Trump. U. S. President Donald Trump declared on Wednesday that he had conversed with the Coca-Cola Company regarding reverting to “genuine cane sugar” in its flagship soft drink for the American market, asserting that the company had accepted to implement the change. 

Trump communicated this announcement through social media but did not provide additional specifics and omitted any mention of the continued use of high-fructose corn syrup—a prevalent component in American sodas since the 1980s. Upon inquiry, Coca-Cola neither affirmed nor denied Trump's assertion. “We value President Trump’s passion for our iconic Coca-Cola brand,” stated company spokesperson Michelle Agnew. “Further details regarding new innovative offerings within our Coca-Cola product line will be revealed shortly. ” 

Agnew also refrained from commenting on whether the company intends to completely eliminate corn syrup, which has faced criticism from health advocates, including Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who partially attributes it to the escalating obesity crisis in the U. S. Coca-Cola already offers a variant of the beverage known as Mexican Coke or MexiCoke, sweetened with cane sugar. Initially brought into the country through unofficial means, the company officially commenced its importation in 2005, beginning with Texas and progressively extending to regions with substantial Hispanic populations. Furthermore, Coca-Cola produces a Kosher-for-Passover variant utilizing cane sugar rather than corn syrup, specifically for observant Jews who refrain from corn and other grains during the holiday.
